Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about preparing your feline companion for a stay at Kitty Angel Cat Hotel in Newton Le Willows. We believe in complete transparency, peace of mind, and compassionate care so that you can relax while you are away.

Leaving your beloved pet can be daunting, so we have answered the most common questions about our booking procedures, health requirements, updates, and resort comforts below.

How do I make a booking?

Bookings can be made by email, Facebook message, or telephone. You will need to complete our booking form for your first stay before an invoice can be emailed to you (a separate form is not required for each individual cat). Subsequent bookings can be placed directly over the phone.

Does my cat require vaccinations?

Our guest’s health is paramount. All cats must have a current and valid vaccination certificate for cat flu and enteritis.

Current means you can show evidence of the primary course and the yearly boosters. Certificates are requested at the time of booking and copies are taken to comply with our license requirement. We are unable to accept cats without current up to date vaccines. If you are unsure if the vaccine is valid send a copy or discuss this with your vet in advance of the holiday and ensure any boosters are given at least 14 days before checking in. If a booster is due during your stay it is advisable to have this early before arrival.

I reserve the right to refuse entry if I feel your vaccine status is not current.

Can I bring my cat's own bedding and toys?

You are more than welcome to bring your cat's own blanket or bedding to provide a comforting, familiar scent. We kindly ask that you do not leave items of personal clothing. Carriers and transportation boxes can be stored in our luggage store if collapsible, or inside your cat's resort. While we take every care, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. If bedding becomes soiled, we will wash it if time permits; otherwise, it will be safely bagged ready for your collection.

My cat has never been in a cattery before

Not a problem, KittyAngel prides herself with her patience, care and expertise in making all guests feel relaxed, special and cared for. Even the most nervous cat will settle in no time at all. We use Pet Remedy products for guests and a little cat nip toy and cuddles will have them relaxing in no time at all.

My Cat doesn't like other cats

That is not a problem as your cat is safe from seeing other cats or coming into contact with them as the resorts are fully  glazed with full height panels and frosted glass. Cats are not allowed to mix from different households.

Will my cat go outside in your garden

No. I am a licensed boarding cattery and cats cannt leave their allocated area. There are no communal areas and cats cannot go outside.

Should I bring a cat carrier

Yes please bring your cat safely in a cat carrier. It is a condition of the cattery licence that cats must arrive in a carrier. You are welcome to leave this as there is luggage space above each cat resort for folding carriers and others can be accommodated in the resort or just outside. They hopefully wont be needed but are there in times of emergency. Cats cannot arrive in arms or on a harness.

I Understand You own a number of Maine Coons, Can We Look at them When We Drop Off Our Cat?

I’m afraid this is not permitted. The licensed boarding unit is not connected to our home. You may see one of the neutered cats as you walk to the boarding cattery as we have a fully enclosed cat garden where our own cats can play. My own cats do not enter the boarding cattery. Whilst my cats are sociable I am unable to spend long periods waiting for guests to leave due to enjoying the cats as this distracts away from looking after my paid guests! Beware we accept no responsibility if one of the resident cat decides to bite you!

How do I pay?

A deposit of 40% of the total booking is required for all stays.

The balance is due 28 days before check in.

We accept cash or bank transfer. You will receive a tax invoice and receipt.

Does my cat need flea or worming treatment?

On check in you are asked to certify the name of the flea and worming treatment you have used nad the date which nust be in the last week unless a 3 monthly vet prescribed tratment.

Supermarket brands are ineffective so please consult your vet for a resistant treatment.

If internal or external parasites are found on or in a guest, by signing this document you agree that your cat can be treated in line with vet guidance and you will be liable for the costs related to this treatment. This will need to be reimbursed to Kitty Angel on checking out from the resort.

How do you keep anxious owners updated while away?

We offer daily updates to reassure you while you are away! Updates are sent via WhatsApp to 07921 778599 on every day except Sunday, when all feline guests enjoy a restful cat reiki session. Simply send us a message whenever you would like to check in on your pet.

What happens on Sundays during my cat's stay?

Sundays are dedicated to quiet rest and holistic wellbeing. On this day, every cat enjoys a calming cat reiki session designed to reduce stress and promote relaxation, meaning our routine WhatsApp photo updates pause until Monday.

My Cat is on medication is this a problem?

We are happy to administer medication for our guests, please let us know of any special needs at the time of booking. Please do not assume that I will adminster medication this must be discussed before booking and your vet history will be requested. You must bring a 'pill popper' for this to be administered or purchase one from reception.

Tablets will not be crushed and a pill popper must be required. We do reserve the right to take your cat to our vet if it becomes aggressive or unable to have the medication administered and any fees will be payable on collection. There is a charge for giving medication and you will be asked to sign a form telling us about the medication.

What if my cat gets sick when I am away?

If your cat becomes unwell during their stay I will first try to contact you or your emergency nominated contact person and keep you updated. Our vet is on call and may need to be taken into isolation. Kitty Angel is not liable for any costs associated with the vet care of your cat and all fees are payable on departure.

An emergency contact number MUST be provided this must be a person in the UK who can collect your cat if needed in any emergency.

Where is Kitty Angel Cat Hotel located?

We are situated in Newton Le Willows, United Kingdom, offering tranquil, licensed, and secure boarding suites tailored to the comfort and individual needs of every cat.

My cats go to shows can they stay

My advice is that you DO NO attend a cat show 14 days prior to attending the boardung cattery as many virus's can take up to 14 days to showo signs. If your cat cats sick when you are away from something it hss picked up at the show, this will result in a vet trip and possible out of hours costs. It also puts all our other guests at risk.
